By his first wife, Emily Eliza (NEWBOLT), he had two sons and two daughters:

i. Sir Thomas Henry Willes, 2nd Baronet, born 1891 Jul 30, died 1955 Feb 26; of University College, Oxford, and the Inner Temple, barrister 1914, later a schoolmaster, associated with his brother-in-law Robin GLADSTONE at the Hall School, Hampstead; then Headmaster of a preparatory school at Felixstowe; later of Standlake, Oxon. He married (1st) 1916 Dec Qtr at Mildenhall Violet E BEECHER and (2nd) 1922 Ethel Constance GLADSTONE who died 1970 Jan daughter of Samuel Henry GLADSTONE of Darley Ash, Bovingdon, Herts, by whom he had issue three sons:

a. Sir Thomas Willes, 3rd Baronet, born 1926 Mch 2; novelist under the pseudonym of "Thomas HINDE"; married Susan Elspeth GLOSSOP, authoress as 'Susan CHITTY', and has issue:

(i) Andrew Edward Willes born 1953.
(ii) Cordelia Anne born 1955.
(iii) Miranda Jane born 1967 Jul 15.
(iv) Jessica born 1971 Jun 6.

b. Michael Willes, born 1929 Jun 10, married 1954 Dec 28, Guildford, Janet Leonora MESSENGER, 2nd daughter of William A. MESSENGER of Pyrford, Surrey.

c. John Henry Willes born 1932 Feb 1.

ii. Robert Michael Willes, born 1893 Oct 13, died of the Canadian Bar, Toronto; married 1922 Apr 26 Norah COOKE daughter of W. COOKE of Toronto, who died and had issue.

a. Norah Elizabeth born 1926 Nov 20.
b. Thomas Michael born 1930 Jun 2.

iii. Diana Willes, educated Cheltenham, married 1915 Dec 18 John Erskine READ of the Canadian Bar, Ottawa, and had issue.

iv. Elizabeth Willes educated Cheltenham; married 1918 Aug 31 Henry Matthew Philipson PHILIPSON-STOW, 3rd son of Sir Frederick P-S, Bart, and had issue.
