Abraham Chitty III
of London (continued)

10. Benjamin, at home in 1695, was purled at St Laurence Pountney 1717 Mch 25, described as a merchant. His Will names his brothers Abraham and David.

11. David, born 1697 Jul 20 and registered at St Helen Bishopsgate, was, like his brothers, left £1000 by his father. He was apprenticed 1712 Nov 30 to Rabl. DIXON, citizen and grocer, and became a malt distiller and brewer at St Saviour Southwark. He is said to have married a sister of Dr BULLOCK - possibly Richard BULLOCK, D.D., of Streatham. He died 1750 having had issue:

Susanna who married by licence dated 1752 Jun 6 for Christchurch, Newgate Street, Anthony MERRY of St Mary Abchurch, wine merchant. He, but not she, is known to have been living in 1783. They had issue:
Susanna ('Sukey') living in 1790, and
Anthony, living 1789.

Elizabeth of Witham, Essex, and later of Lewes, Sussex, in her Will, dated 1783 and proved 1790, names BULLOCK friends.

David, a minor in 1750, died 1759/68 according to his Will, as of St Saviour Southwark Esq., leaving estates in Southwark and Surrey to his sisters. A mortgage (at Croydon, DS70) dated 1756 Dec 4 shows David of Woodford, Essex, mortgaging to Bateman ROBSON property at Thornton Heath and Croydon.

12. Richard - known only from family tradition which says he died under the age of 12.
